Just when the 49ers were starting to look like the team most people thought they were coming into this season, they took a giant step backwards yesterday against the Seahawks. Despite not having their top playmaker on offense and defense they are still the better of the two teams on paper. Once again the Niners found a way to beat themselves and lose a game they had no business losing.
There's a recurring theme in all of the 49ers losses this season. SELF INFLICTED DAMAGE.
For as great as Kyle Shanahan can be as a play caller, since taking over as coach, he has not improved one bit at getting himself or his team mentally locked in and focused in the biggest games and the biggest moments.
From too many turnovers and penalties in both Seattle games and Indy to poor clock management against Green Bay to horrible game planning in Trey Lance's only start at Arizona, Kyle Shanahan continues to provide evidence that he is not a championship level coach at this point in time when it comes to preparedness and demanding execution from his team.
#icouldbewrong but the 49ers have already peaked in the Kyle Shanahan Era. They were less than half a quarter of #football away from the #nfl's ultimate prize and failed to remain focused and didn't execute when it mattered most. Sound familiar??
