Jayson Tatum's 'Finals Moment' is Staring Him in The Face

Writer's picture: Ike UdbewrongIke Udbewrong

This is it. There is no tomorrow for Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics if they lose at home Thursday night versus the Warriors. For as brilliant as Tatum's playoff run has been, he's come up short in the biggest moments in the Finals so far through 5 games. From untimely turnovers, missed free throws, to just overall erratic play at times, he just has not risen to the occasion when the games have been on the line. The bad news for the Celtics is that so far in these Finals Tatum has given no reason to think that he is going to suddenly takeover the series and lead them back from down 3-2. The good news for the Celtics is that so far every time their backs have been against the wall this post-season Jayson Tatum has stepped up and delivered. There is no doubt that Jayson Tatum is a super star in the NBA and will almost certainly be a future MVP, sooner rather than later. And #icouldbewrong but I'm certain if you were to ask the Joker if he'd trade his MVP for a championship, he'd say yes every damn time. Because winning is what they play for and winning is what cements legacies. Jayson Tatum's Finals Moment is staring him in the face. He just needs to step up and take it.
