In the words of Kirk "Cold Hard Cash" Cousins, "You like that!"
Week 1 in the NFL definitely didn't disappoint when it comes to highlights, surprises, and storylines. Here are my top 10 takeaways from week 1.
#icouldbewrong, but:
1. The 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys defenses all look like they are in midseason form already. All of them play each other at some point during the season. Expect fireworks.
2. The Bengals offensive line is exactly that. OFFENSIVE. Joe Burrow could be in big trouble this year.
3. As good as Patrick Mahomes is, the Chiefs need to upgrade their wide receiver room asap. Otherwise, they won’t make it back to the AFC Championship Game for a 6th year in a row.
4. The Dolphins are contenders in the AFC. If Tua can stay on the field, they have the potential to go all the way to the Super Bowl.
5. The Chargers are still the Chargers; a very talented team that always finds a way to lose games they should win. I'm still trying to figure out the hype around Justin Herbert and Brandon Staley.
6. The Lions are on the verge of becoming legitimate contenders in the NFC. Aiden Hutchinson is a monster on the defensive line and will definitely be in the DYOP conversation all year.
7. IF the Rams can stay healthy, they’re going to make some noise in the NFC playoff race.
8. Jordan Love will be the best quarterback in the NFC North by season’s end.
9. Deshaun Watson will be an MVP candidate at the end of the season. (Trust me.)
10. If Aaron Rodgers did in fact rupture his Achilles' tendon, we may have witnessed the end of his career on Monday night. As much as I dislike Rodgers, I never want to see any player get injured. (Ok, maybe a stubbed toe during the playoffs.)
