Week 13 MNF New England vs Buffalo

#Icouldbewrong but don't you just love #nfl #football in December? Not many matchups could be better to wrap up the week than the Bills hosting the Patriots with first place in the AFC East on the line. This is a big game for obvious reasons.

The Bills need to win to not only keep pace in the division but in the AFC in general. They only have the 2 games against the Pats and a week 18 matchup against the Jets as their remaining "In Conference" games. With 4 losses against AFC foes already, a loss tonight could mean they may be in some trouble if they end up in a 3-way tie for playoff position.

The Patriots, on the other hand, are already in 1st place in the AFC with not only the 2 games against Buffalo left but ALL of their remaining games are against AFC opponents. They obviously don't want to lose the game and the momentum they have built during their winning streak, but they would not be as impacted by a loss as the Bills would be when it comes to playoff seeding.

I picked Buffalo to win the AFC East to start the season and I'm sticking with that pick, FOR NOW. #Icouldbewrong but I have Buffalo in a close one, 23-21.

Interesting note:

Other than each other, both teams only have one team with a winning record currently remaining on the schedule. Buffalo visits Tampa Bay next week and New England goes to Indianapolis in Week 15

The Numbers:

  • Buffalo

    • #4 Total Yards/GM - 389.3

    • #2 Offense Points/GM - 29.6

    • #1 Total Defense Yards Allowed/GM - 275

    • #2 Defense Points Allowed/GM - 16.5

  • New England

    • #15 Total Yards/GM - 355.3

    • #7 Offense Points/GM - 28

    • #4 Total Defense Yards Allowed/GM - 316

    • # Defense Points Allowed/GM - 15.8
